About Northern Railway Zone
The Northern Railway Zone is simply abbreviated as “NR” is one of the Indian Railway Zones. Northern Railways is the largest railway zone of Indian Railways. The NR Zone has headquartered at Baroda House near India Gate, New Delhi. The Railway Zone of Northern is about the length of 6968 and consists of mixed track gauge. NRZ has established in the year 14th April of 1952 and also started operations on the same date.

NR Zone Divisions
According to the Northern Railways Map (उत्तरी रेलवे क्षेत्र), the NR Zones are divided into 05 divisions and they are of the following:
- Delhi IR Division located at NCT of Delhi
- Lucknow IR Division located at Uttar Pradesh State
- Ambala IR Division located at Haryana
- Firozpur IR Division located at Punjab
- Moradabad IR Division located at Uttar Pradesh State
The Ambala and Delhi division of RRB Chandigarh also comes under NR

NR Railway Sub Zones

- Firstly, the North Central Railway Zone
- Secondly, the North Eastern Railway Zone
- Thirdly, the North Western Railway Zone

Under POL Plants the following industries are served by the NRZ are Panki, Suchipind at Firozpur, Panipat, Indian Oil Company, IOC (Indian Oil Corporation) and Refinery Plants of IOC
Cement Plants
Under Cement Plants, the following industries are served by the NRZ are Ropar, Gujarat – Ambuja Cement Limited and Ambala (Through Kiratpur Station on the division of Ambala)

Thermal Power Plants
Under Thermal Power Plants the following industries are served by the NRZ are Bhatinda, Roopnagar, and Lehra Mohabbat
